Hasbro Pulse Con 2021

Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 was an online live-streamed two-day “convention” where new collectible toys were revealed to the public. It occurred on the 22nd and 23rd of October. The live stream from each day was five hours long so I did not watch all of it both live streams were uploaded to the Hasbro Pulse YouTube channel so I skipped around in them. The event attracted approximately 150,000 viewers. Many of the products unveiled have already sold out. Since the event took place on Hasbro’s own YouTube channel, the costs of creating the event were limited to paying the employees that worked on it. Based on sales, Hasbro has more than made its money back. This event was a really simple way for Hasbro to generate attention for its new collectibles. Since the event was live-streamed, it gave viewers a feeling of excitement and exclusivity to be part of the community of fans who watched it live.

Live streams are uploaded to YouTube for those who missed watching the event live.

With the live streaming of Hasbro Pulse Con 2021, the Hasbro Pulse website was redesigned. So many new products were unveiled and the option to preorder them was front and center on the website. This is smart because that is what most of the traffic going to the website is looking for. The only thing that surprised me is that in the description of the live stream videos, there is not a link to the website to purchase the products. This is a missed opportunity. I was frustrated when I had to go and manually search up the website to find it. The image shown below is found on the home page of the Hasbro Pulse website.

The advertisement specifies that it is the “Last Chance To Pre-Order!” This creates a sense of urgency for customers since they will not want to miss out on the opportunity to purchase this product. It also includes a call to action to pre-order before it closes on the 31st.
